Customers and Groups


Your customers are critical assets and it pays to know your assets.  You choose whether customers must register with your website before purchasing.  Once a customer does register, you can easily track their order history, billing and shipping information, and even their wishlists. And since you know not every customer is the same, you can organize your customers into groups and offer special discounts, promotions, or even limited-edition products to selected Groups.




Customer Accounts

Customer accounts may be created either by customers themselves in the front end (this feature may optionally be turned off) or by the administrator in the back end. Registered customers have access to their order history, they can add and edit addresses in their address book and view and edit newsletter subscriptions, they can view their wish list and tags given to products in the store. The same information can be seen by the administrator in the back end.


Lifetime Customer Info

Every customer ever created in the front or back end is accounted for in the back end of the web store. Records are kept for the purchases made, reviews and product tags submitted. Customer shopping cart and wish list can be accessed as well. Customers may be removed from the list and deleted by the administrator.



Customer Groups

Customers can be allocated into groups to provide segment specific pricing or even shopping experience. Customers from a specific group may be given their own price list at all times with the help of tier pricing, or they may receive special sales and discounts set up as price rules or coupons. Customers from different groups may also be charged different tax rates.


Multiple Language Support

Don’t let the borders of countries or regions be barriers for yourself. Take advantage of the existing language packages that Pipfrog has for its store front and of the easy-to-use but powerful inline translator to create a store front in your target market’s favorite language. One store, based on the same or different products and category setup, may support an unlimited number of languages.



Customer Imports and Exports

If you are not a new business owner and already have a customer database or you would like to process the data gathered through the web store, then the Import/Export feature is a one-click tool to upload or download this information. Two types of files can be used: CSV and MS Excel XML. The same file types are used for exporting customer reports on most avid shoppers and most eager taggers.
